NC Electrical & Air Conditioning Pty Ltd (ABN 90 615 021 808), trading as NC Electrical and SolarCity NT(“we”, “us”, “our”), is committed to protecting your personal information and respecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use, disclose and protect personal information, and how you can access or correct it or make a complaint. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This policy applies to personal information we collect about customers, prospective customers, suppliers, contractors, job applicants, employees and visitors to our website.
2. What is personal information
Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. It includes things like your name, contact details and information about your dealings with us. Some information we collect may be sensitive information (for example, details provided as part of a job application), which we only collect with your consent or where otherwise permitted by law.

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact and identity details — name, postal and email address, phone number, and business/company details.
- Property and job information — service address, site access details, descriptions of the work, photographs of the site or installation, meter and connection details, and other information needed to quote and carry out work.
- Billing and payment information — billing address, payment records, and transaction history. We do not store full card numbers; card payments are processed by our third-party payment providers.
- Account and correspondence records — quotes, invoices, job records, service history, warranty records, and records of communications with you (including email, phone, SMS and messaging apps such as WhatsApp).
- Employment and contractor information — for job applicants and workers, information such as résumés, qualifications, licences, references, and information required to engage and pay you.
- Website and technical information — IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and similar analytics data collected via cookies and similar technologies (see section 9).
We generally collect personal information directly from you. In some cases we may collect it from third parties — for example, real estate agents or property managers who engage us, builders or head contractors, referrers, or publicly available sources — where it is reasonable to do so.
4. Why we collect, hold and use your information
We collect, hold and use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and provide quotes;
- schedule, perform and manage electrical, solar, air conditioning, communications and EV charging work;
- manage our customer, supplier and contractor relationships;
- invoice you and process payments;
- meet warranty, safety, licensing and other regulatory obligations;
- recruit, assess and manage workers and contractors;
- send you service updates and, where permitted, marketing about our products and services;
- maintain the security and integrity of our systems and records; and
- comply with our legal obligations.
If you do not provide the information we request, we may not be able to provide you with a quote, carry out work, or otherwise assist you.
5. How we hold and protect your information
We hold personal information in both electronic and physical form. We use reputable business systems to manage our operations, including job management, accounting, document management and communications platforms (for example AroFlo, Xero and Microsoft 365).
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including through access controls, secure storage, and staff confidentiality obligations. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Who we share your information with
We may disclose personal information to:
- our employees, contractors and virtual assistants who need it to perform their roles;
- subcontractors and trade partners engaged to help deliver work to you;
- our service providers, including IT, cloud hosting, accounting, payment processing and marketing providers;
- third parties who have engaged us in relation to your property (for example, head contractors, builders, property managers or owners), where relevant to the work;
- government bodies, regulators and network/utility providers (for example Power and Water Corporation) where required to perform work or meet our obligations; and
- others where you have consented, or where we are required or permitted by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Overseas disclosure
Some of our administrative, scheduling and customer-support functions are performed by team members located in the Philippines as part of our remote operations. As a result, personal information may be accessed from, or disclosed to recipients in, the Philippines.
Some of our cloud-based service providers may also store data on servers located outside Australia. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, including through contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
8. Direct marketing
We may use your contact details to send you information about our products, services and offers we think may be of interest, by email, SMS or post. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our messages or by contacting us using the details in section 13. We will action your request promptly.
9. Cookies and website analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to help it function, to remember your preferences, and to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) that collect information about your visit. Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies; if you do, some parts of the site may not work as intended.
Our website may also contain links to, or embedded content from, third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as we are required to keep it to meet legal, accounting, warranty, safety or tax obligations. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
11. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. To make a request, contact us using the details in section 13. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request. We will respond within a reasonable period. In limited circumstances we may decline access or correction as permitted by law, in which case we will explain why.
12. Data breaches
We have processes to identify and respond to data breaches. If a breach involving your personal information is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
